Southover Counselling is a service which respects and values every individual and seeks to bring people hope and wholeness.

Southover Counselling is a professional counselling service based at Church End in Lewes and supported by TRINITY Church. All our counsellors are fully qualified, experienced and members of either the British Association of Counselling or The Association of Christian Counsellors.

We are currently offering face to face, online and telephone sessions.

About Us

Southover Counselling is a professional counselling service based in Lewes, East Sussex. It is a service that was established 14 years ago and works with clients from youngsters to older people.

It employs a team of professionally trained counsellors who are all members of a recognized professional body. Its services are offered to all irrespective of belief, gender, race, disability or sexual orientation.

What to Expect

There are times in life when we need someone to aid us on our journey. A professionally trained counsellor can help. Our approach is client centred and we work within various counselling models, with an individual approach. You are a person with a unique life experience and our approach is to help you gain new insights about yourself and circumstances in a supportive relationship.

We aim to avoid long waiting lists, so you can start to make the changes you need in your life.

Counselling sessions are usually weekly, lasting approximately 50 minutes. The number of sessions will depend on how you and the counsellor feel about your needs which may mean a period of a few weeks or longer.

Our Team

Our team consists of professionally trained counsellors. Most of the team have their own private practice as well as offering services to  Southover Counselling.   They all have diplomas, certificates and extra qualifications to keep their knowledge up to date. Those working face to face use our counselling room at Church End in Lewes. Currently there are no sessions available for Fridays or weekends.

Debbie Culley-   Wednesday.  Face to face counselling  and online.

Costs

We aim to make our service affordable. At present our costs are £40 for an individual and £50 for a couple.  A reduced rate is available depending on circumstances.

It is our policy that no one should be excluded on financial grounds but we ask for a minimum fee of £15-£20.

If you have to cancel please give us 24 hours notice otherwise 50% of the agreed fee will be charged.

In order to maintain our services we regularly fundraise and receive donations form organisations and individuals.

We appreciate all contributions to aid the continuation of our service.

Bereavement Course – 7 weeks starting 25th September 2023

Grief is hard . Death can impact all of life. This course is for anyone bereaved at anytime. It has supported and helped many people in sharing, reflecting and learning with others in a confidential environment.

The next course starts on 25th September 2023 at Church End, TRINITY Southover.

Walking through grief takes a long time and no two people have the same loss or the same journey.

We offer a 7 week course called “The Bereavement Journey” on Mondays at various points each year. It’s held at Church End, TRINITY Southover from 7- 9 pm providing support and community for anyone who would like to share their journey within a small group.

It is run in partnership with TRINITY Church and is open to anyone with faith, no faith, whether recently bereaved for some months or years. There will a charge of £25 for the course booklet and light refreshments.
